Before finding my voice as a novelist, I spent nearly a decade as a rare book conservator at university libraries across New England. Those quiet hours spent with centuries-old manuscripts deeply influenced my approach to storytelling. My debut novel drew from those experiences and went on to win the local writers prize. Since then, I've published four novels that blend historical elements with contemporary themes, exploring the ways the past echoes through present lives. I write from my 1890s farmhouse in western Massachusetts, where I live with two impossibly patient cats, and an ever-growing collection of fountain pens. When I'm not working on my next book, I teach creative writing workshops at local libraries and contribute essays on craft to various literary journals. My mornings begin with strong black tea and end with whatever manuscript I'm currently revising, usually by candlelight.
